Le capitaine Georges Fossoul (1884 – 1945) dirigea le corps des pompiers place du Conseil à Anderlecht de 1919 à 1940. Franc-maçon et démocrate, il s'engagea dans la résistance pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Déporté, décédé à Buchenwald. (remark in French, as published)
