Hougoumont était un château ferme devenu célèbre lors de la bataille de Waterloo. Jadis, cette voie s'appelait avenue des Parcs. Elle fut prolongée en 1928-1929 jusqu'à la chaussée de Waterloo au détriment de l'avenue de la Petite Espinette, qui fut raccourcie. (remark in French, as published)
