Rappelle qu'Uccle possédait, jadis, un des plus importants échevinage de la région; ses coutumes furent adoptées par de nombreux échevinages de la région. En néerlandais, cette rue devrait s'appeler 'Schepenenbank' pour faire référence au tribunal des échevins, institution ancienne. Actuellement, Schepenij fait référence au collège des échevins moderne. (remark in French, as published)
