L'avenue rend hommage au chevalier Antonin de Selliers de Moranville (1852-1919), brièvement nommé Chef d'Etat-Major en 1914. Suite à des différends avec le roi Albert Ier et ses conseillers, cette fonction fut rayée par le roi. Le chevalier prit sa retraite en 1919. (remark in French, as published)
