Les frères Henri-Adolphe (1895-1914) et Joseph-Valentin (1896-1917) combattirent lors de la Première Guerre mondiale. Ils étaient originaires de Saint-Josse-ten-Noode mais vivaient dans la commune. Henri-Adolphe fut tué en Flandres Occidentale, et Joseph-Valentin, trois ans plus tard, alors qu'il essayait de passer la frontière belgo-néerlandaise. (remark in French, as published)
