L'avenue du Bois de la Cambre s'appelait autrefois 'Dieweg', mais lors de l'aménagement du bois de la Cambre, cette voie fut séparée en plusieurs tronçons éloignés les uns des autres, entraînant de nombreuses difficultés aux administrations communales de Uccle, Bruxelles et Ixelles. Les autorités ixelloises décidèrent donc de renommer leur 'tronçon' afin de faciliter son administration. Elle fut donc nommée Avenue du Bois de la Cambre en 1936 (remark in French, as published)
