Le général Dwight David Eisenhower (1890-1969) fut le commandant en chef des forces armées alliées en Europe durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Par la suite, il se présentera aux élections présidentielles étasuniennes, qu'il gagnera en 1952. Il sera ainsi président des Etats-Unis jusqu'en 1961. (remark in French, as published)
