Pierre Beyst (1879-1944), échevin de la commune. La rue portant initialement son nom fut débaptisée en 1945 pour devenir l'avenue des Crocus, mais en 1954, les autorités communales décidèrent de redonner ce toponyme à une seconde rue. (remark in French, as published)
