Il se pourrait que la famille Wielemans Ceuppens compte un ancien bourgmestre de la localité (début du Xxe siècle ?). Mais c'est surtout la famille qui fonda une célèbre brasserie de ce nom en 1880. La brasserie a fermé en 1980. (remark in French, as published)
