Fernand Tonnet (1894-1945) est le secrétaire de l'abbé Cardijn et développe la Jeunesse ouvrière chrétienne dès 1924. Au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il s'engage dans la résistance et est déporté à Dachau où il décède en février 1945. (remark in French, as published)
