Tronçon existant depuis le Xve siècle et inchangé depuis le XVIIIe siècle. Nommé ainsi en référence à la cantatrice célèbre et ixelloise Maria Félicité Garcia (1808-1836) qui prit le nom de 'la Malibran' suite à son éphémère mariage avec le français François Eugène Malibran. Si elle ne résida pas longtemps à Ixelles du à ses nombreux déplacements ordonnés par sa renommée internationale, elle y naquit mais fut enterrée au cimetière de Laeken.
