Eugène Keym (1861 – 1920) était échevin de la commune. Lorsque le bourgmestre en fonction fut déporté par les Allemands en 1914, il prit cette charge et entreprit de venir en aide à la population de la localité. Il se démarqua également par sa volonté de collectionner les traces de l'occupation allemande dans la localité (dessins, caricatures, cartes postales et de nombreuses photos), collection qui porte actuellement son nom et que les Archives de Bruxelles possèdent depuis que le fils du concerné en fit don. ex. place de Watermael.
