Joseph Wauteurs (1875-1929) est originaire de Waremme et physico-chimiste de profession. Cependant, il s'engage en politique, devient Ministre d'Etat et jouera un rôle important dans les conditions des travailleurs et des personnes précaires. Il est à l'origine de nombreuses initiatives pour augmenter les pensions, lancer des mutuelles ou protéger le travail des femmes et des enfants. (remark in French, as published)
