Alma fait référence à 'Alma Mater', le signe de l'Université de Louvain-la-Neuve, qui fait référence de manière générale à l'université au sein de laquel l'on a été formé. Le campus bruxellois de l'UCLouvain a ainsi été baptisé 'Campus Alma' et a aussi donné son nom à une station de métro. Alma serait une réponse à l'arrêt de métro 'Delta' qui fait référence à l'Université libre de Bruxelles et aux symboles de la franc-maçonnerie. (remark in French, as published)
