Armand De Neuter (1886-1933) était parti au Canada lorsque la guerre éclata. Il se présenta alors comme volontaire et fut envoyé à Ypres. Il y subira les attaques au gaz et sera renvoyé. Il s'est alors installé dans la commune, jusqu'à sa mort précoce des suites de l'inhalation des gaz. (remark in French, as published)
