La rue fut nommée en hommage à Damien Bourg, colonel luxembourgeois (1870-1931). Il s'engagea rapidement dans l'armée belge (1887) et grimpa les échelons hiérarchiques pour devenir capitaine commandant à la veille de la Première Guerre mondiale. Participe à la défense de Namur et combat à Anvers. Dénomination pour Schaerbeek (1931), pour Evere, 27/12/1974 (remark in French, as published)
