Une boulangerie était située dans cette rue et s'appelait 't Sister', c'est-à-dire 'la rasière'. Celle-ci est une mesure utilisée dans les Flandres et en Normandie et qui désigne une cuve de farine contenant environ 60 décilitres (cette cuve devait être remplie à ras). Par extension, la population prit l'habitude de nommer la rue ainsi. Par la suite, une partie de l'axe sera renommé 'rue de l'Hectolitre'. (remark in French, as published)
