Barthelemy-Théodore comte de Theux de Maylandt (1794-1874) était un noble, avocat et engagé politiquement au moment de l'indépendance de la Belgique. Il fut membre du Congrès national de 1830, puis Premier ministre à deux reprises : entre 1834 et 1840 ; et entre 1846 et 1847. Il sera nommé Ministre d'État par le roi.
