Initialement appelée la rue du Gaz (mais doublon avec d'autres communes). En 1915, la commune décide de l'appeler 'rue des Alliés' mais là aussi la dénomination existe déjà et on opte finalement pour la rue des Braves en mémoire des soldats morts en août 1914. En avril 2023, la rue est scindée. Le premier tronçon devient la rue des soeurs Brontë, le second la rue Renée Douffet, reconnue Juste entre les Nations. (remark in French, as published)
