Le Broek (ou Broeck) représente ici un lieu dit. En ancien néerlandais, broeck signifierait marécageux. Un hameau de ce nom est situé sur la rive gauche du ruisseau venant d'Itterbeek. Il y avait là en tout cas une ferme, et peut-être des cultures maraîchères. (remark in French, as published)
