La rue s'appelait autrefois Route de Cologne. Aux lendemains de la Première Guerre mondiale, elle fut rebaptisée Rue des Alliés. Mais une telle appellation était déjà utilisée à Forest. La rue s'appellera alors Rue du Camp et Petite rue du Camp dans sa prolongation. Il s'agit donc peut-être d'une référence à la Première Guerre mondiale. résulte d'une débaptisation partielle de la rue Pré aux Oies (remark in French, as published)
