Le cens représente à l'époque médiévale un impôt dû au seigneur sous lequel les roturiers se plaçaient. Cet impôt pouvait être en argent ou en nature. Lorsque l'avenue Charles Quint fut créée, la commune a souhaité faire revivre le passé médiéval de la région. (remark in French, as published)
