'C’est par arrêté du Collège de la Ville de Bruxelles du 22.06.1923 que cette portion fut rebaptisée rue du Verdier, tandis que les parties nord de la rue Médori étaient renommées avenues des Robiniers et des Ébéniers. Le verdier est un passereau de couleur verte vivant dans les champs et les parcs, que l’on rencontrait sans doute dans ce quartier arboré de Laeken.' (remark in French, as published)
