Ernest Solvay (1838-1922) fut un scientifique, philanthrope, industriel et une personnalité politique belge. En plus de ces rôles, il fonda différents instituts : l'Institut de physiologie, l'Institut de sociologie et l'Ecole de commerce de l'Université libre de Bruxelles à la charnière du XXe siècle. Localement, il s'était investi également dans un dispensaire anti-tuberculeux. Il fut également ministre d'Etat. (remark in French, as published)
