Franciscus Vandevelde (1905-1942) était originaire de Flandres Orientale et habitait la commune avec son épouse où il travaillait comme receveur de tram. membre du parti communiste, résistant pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Arrêté par la Gestapo en 1941 et mourut en 1942 à Hamburg-Neuengamme. (remark in French, as published)
