Georges Remy (1890-1931) était électricien lorsque la Guerre éclata. Il combattit, fut blessé puis emprisonné. Il est alors envoyé dans un camp de prisonnier, dès août 1914, et y restera jusqu'à sa libération en décembre 1918. Il put s'installer dans la commune, au sein de la Cité Moderne, grâce à l'intervention de l'Oeuvre nationales des invalides de guerre. (remark in French, as published)
