Thomas Gray (début du XIXe siècle) était un habitant d'Etterbeek d'origine britannique. Il adressa une pétition au roi des Pays-Bas Guillaume Ier afin de mener à bien la création d'une ligne de chemin de fer entre Bruxelles et Charleroi, et d'éviter l'utilisation massive du canal pour cette connexion. Sa pétition ne fut pas écoutée et il mourut dans la misère. (remark in French, as published)
