Homère (VIIIe siècle avant J.-C. ?) est un poète épique grec et le plus ancien des écrivains grecs dont l'œuvre nous soit parvenue. Il serait l'auteur de l'Iliade et de l'Odyssée, poèmes fondateurs de la littérature grecque antique. Son existence fut entourée de légendes dès le VIe siècle avant J.-C.
