Il pourrait s'agir de deux personnes. Il se pourrait que ce soit Jan Van Ruusbroeck (1293-1381), clerc qui se démarqua pour ses travaux sur la mystique rhéno-flamande. Il écrivit en flamand et en latin. Ou alors, il s'agirait de Jean van Ruysbroeck qui vécut au XVe siècle, était architecte bâtisseur, et est notamment connu pour la tour de l'hôtel de ville de la grand-place de Bruxelles, ou les tours de la Cathédrale Michel et Gudule. La rue se situe à proximité de l'église Notre-Dame-Immaculée, de la rue Père Damien, et de l'Avenue Notre-Dame. (remark in French, as published)
