Jules Lahaye (1858-1921) est un habitant fortuné de la commune, marchand de chevaux et administrateur de plusieurs sociétés commerciales. Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, il s'implique au sein du Comité local de Secours et d'Alimentation et met à disposition sa propriété et ses entrepôts afin de distribuer des aides alimentaires aux Bruxellois.
