Initialement dénommée Karreveld et rue du Champ de Cailloux, elle fut finalement transformée en Keyenveld. Ce toponyme lui vient de la particularité de la rue qui présentait une aridité contrastante avec les paysages verdoyants des alentours. (remark in French, as published)
