Ropsy Chaudron (1850-1912) fut le promoteur et fondateur des abattoirs de Rhode-Saint-Genèse. Initialement, la rue se nommait rue d'Allemagne. Elle fut débaptisée et renommée ainsi en 1918. L'autre partie est devenue l'Avenue Clemenceau. (remark in French, as published)
