Le Sergent Sorensen (1919-1944) était à bord d'un avion qui fut touché par les Allemands. Il parvint à atterrir et fut recueilli par le groupe Comète. Il est mort dans les combats pour la Libération. Une tombe à son nom dans l'ancien cimetière de Ganshoren indique qu'il était Etats-unien. 'Roger Abeels (1924-1944) est un résistant du réseau Comète dont le destin est lié à celui du Sergent Sorensen que sa famille a recueilli (au 19 avenue de la Constitution) après que son avion eût été abattu par les Allemands.
