Maximilien Veydt (1823-1873) était écrivain, professeur à l'Université Libre de Bruxelles et fut échevin à Ixelles. Mais d'autres hypothèses coexistent : il pourrait s'agir d'un propriétaire foncier, de Laurent Veydt Ministre des Finances, ou encore de Jean Francis Veydt, homme de lettres et scénariste.
