Félix Van de Sande (1824-1890) était dramaturge et néerlandophone. Avec Pierre Gassée et Vader Kats, ils décident d'ouvrir un théâtre flamand dans la capitale qui n'en avait pas encore. Celui-ci sera inauguré en 1887 et existe toujours aujourd'hui. Le square est créé suite à une demande du cercle choral et dramatique Felix Vande sande Kring. (remark in French, as published)
