L'université libre de Bruxelles s'implanta sur l'actuel Campus du Solbosh à partir de 1921. Le premier bâtiment fut achevé en 1924 (bâtiment U). L'avenue de l'Université fut créée en 1930. Par contre, il s'agit de la Hoogeschool-laan en néerlandais (remark in French, as published)
