Charles-Auguste de Bériot (1802-1870) est compositeur et violoniste de talent né à Louvain. Il fit construire, avec son épouse, deux hôtels particuliers à Ixelles et Saint-Josse. Dans les années 1840, il devient professeur au Conservatoire de Bruxelles. (remark in French, as published)
