Guillaume Dekelver (1864-1915) était charretier et avait un cheval pour gagner sa vie. Lorsque les Allemands voulurent réquisitionner son cheval, il refusa et fut forcé, à l'âge de 50 ans, d'incorporer l'armée comme charretier militarisé. Il mourut dans un hôpital en Flandre Occidentale. (remark in French, as published)
