Guillaume Demuylder (1879-1918) était légumier et vivait avec sa famille dans la commune. Mobilisé, blessé, il est soigné dans un hôpital militaire de Bourbourg en France. Il y décéde en mars 1918. Sa dépouille fut rapatriée en 1922. (remark in French, as published)
