Jean Van Lierde (?-1945) était Commissaire adjoint de la commune avec Maurice Josée. Accompagnés de Joseph De Vries, agent de police, ils participèrent à la Résistance au sein du Front de l'Indépendance. Ils furent capturés et décéderont dans les camps de concentration.
